SCARBOROUGH, MAINE – Harmon’s Market is absolutely delighted to present its first one-person show of new paintings, entitled Sanctuary, by Mallie Loring Pratt.  The work directly references the rocks, forests and meadows along her New England and Maine coastlines, while the artist's physicality and vital use of color deftly push it to the point of abstraction.  And, it is at this confluence of realizations and sensations that you find yourself connected to the artist’s world.

About her paintings the artist wrote: “The work reflects my own desire to get closer, to make an environment my home and integrate into the landscape.  The paintings shift between close-up and distant moments, reflecting the tension between observing a place and being immersed within it.

Also, the gallery is very pleased to share that Mallie’s work has been selected by the Center for Maine Contemporary Art for inclusion in its 2025 Biennial, on view from October 4, 2025 to January 12, 2026.

Sanctuary will be on view from August 6 thru September 6, 2025; with an evening reception for the artist on Wednesday, August 6, from 5 to 7.
